Surprises at the rookery

Calli and I have been friends for a year now.  She's always happy to see me.

At the rookery at 5:30 tonight.  It was 73 and 68% humidity, clouded over and in the beginning, absolutely still.

There were several birds on the other side, heron, a hawk (either a harrier or a red shouldered juvenile), flicker, blue jay, kingbird and some other flicker size bird I cannot identify way up in the top of the trees.

There was a lot I couldn't identify.  What do you think these prints are from?

I left the rookery after 6 and the sun had just jabbed through the clouds and lit the rookery up.  All the birds dispersed except the heron who stayed guarding.  Blue jay was calling from afar and as the clouds were breaking up a breeze arrived.

And the tree spirits were very visible.
