Day 262
September 19, 2022
Happy Birthday, Kora J.

Woke up this morning and knew I had to take a day to myself.  I spent the day alone and mostly taking photos.  Felt good.

It was a beautiful day, a little humid and a little dramatic, but interesting.
At the rookery a hawk posted himself up on the highest pine above Sherry's house and stayed there the entire time I was there.  There were geese in the pond, and I heard jays and crows, but I didn't see any others.

UPINGIll was kind of misty, but full of berries.  I didn't pick any today.  The cows were near by.  Every time I see cows in farmland like this I think of Kora.  It was appropriate today because it is her 31st birthday.

The canal was drained.  It was very dramatic.  There were six Great Blue Heron there, at least two Bald Eagle, a couple of hawks, ducks, geese, and plenty of bumble bees.  I saw monarch or two, too.

The heron were having a lot of fun.  I was so glad to see them, too.  I also saw one above Main Rd. in Gill. I get worried that the summer heron trauma will make them all go away.
