Day 300
October 27, 2022
I need new glasses, I'm afraid.

Very quick ride to the rookery today where it was stunning, I mean stunning.  The water was filled with ducks and geese and many of the trees were bare.  It was 64 at 2:20.

I want to write a picture book on Rhiannon Giddens. I remember a distinct conversation with my father about how great it was that Leontyne Price sang in the White House and how hard it was for a woman of color to be chosen to sing at the Met.  And now there is Rhiannon, who plays banjo, sings opera, wins a McArthur Prize and writes children's books.  She is my hero.

Today I conspired with a friend to get her to come to Greenfield.  Wish us luck.

This evening at work was kind of sweet.  We hung out hoping for more people to attend the workshop, only one person came out of the 7 I thought would.  Oh well, one can't measure the value of our programming based on attendance.  Our attendees are fickle.
