Day 313
November 9, 2022
This maybe the villain, or an offspring of the villain.

At 2 this afternoon the rookery was 47.  The sun was already seeping down the west side of the hills.  There was not a cloud in the sky, nor was there a breeze.  There were ducks around, but for the most part, it was almost boring.  Remember I have been in quarantine for 9 days and boredom is pretty close to the surface.  I'm kind of amazed that in 2020 I did this route by myself for like 4 months and did not go nuts.
The light was fascinating and I almost missed it when the adolescent eagle flew down into trees alongside the space where the ducks hide out.  I was putting the 500 on to see if I could identify any or them and the eagle landed.  That flushed the ducks out and a bunch of them swam across the water.

The kingfisher got really active and he flew and plunged the entire circumference of the rookery.

It did feel like the setting of a violent scene so after half hour of waiting, I left, couldn't take it any longer.  I get that the eagle is just part of the whole, but I don't want to watch it.  It's way too symbolic for me these days.

I'm going to stay in isolation for most of tomorrow.  I think I'm better but I don't want to relapse.  Hope everyone is staying free of the dreaded disease.
