Day 329

A day for ducks

I had a busy day today and didn't get to use the camera until the end as the sun was beginning to set and a storm couldn't make up its mind about what it wanted to do.

The canal was filled with birds, geese, mallards, woodducks, mergansers, seagulls and a couple eagles flying around.  I think this may be those who will spend the winter in Turners.

But before I got here I was at the Y and I spent time at LAVA writing.  I wrote for the 2 hours, but nothing worth sharing with anyone.  I am so glad we have done Write Nov., and I think I have done a little work that's ok, but most of it has been for my eyes only.  In some ways its more about knowing you belong to a community of writers.
Edite cooked Thanksgiving dinner today and sent me off with a plate which I just had for dinner.  It was very good.

I did not get a nap today and I'm going to end out going to bed early for the 3rd night in a row.  But I feel good about that.  This morning I got up and went to the Y.  It's becoming a habit to do it every day.  I really move better and don't get tired as quickly on the days I go to the pool.

I took some photos of light in trees mainly because I knew there was both an eagle and a large woodpecker in the small grove and I was trying to find them.  I could hear that woodpecker and I saw the eagle fly into the tops of the evergreens, but I didn't see either one.

I'm glad I went over before I came home to the bank. laundry and some bill paying.

I still want to learn to identify some more ducks.  I will create a system for the winter months.  Who winters in W. Ma. in the duck world?
