Day 334
November 30, 2022
The end of a complex month.
A positive end to a very complex month.

I really related to this little neighborhood library stuck out at the end of a closed off road, cut off from the college.  It was full of books and I got the impression that it was used a lot and I may bring some books to it tomorrow, but it really struck me that it was truly isolated.

It was a very busy day.  And it was a very rainy day.  I got wet a few times.  I did not get a ride in, but I did get to the pool, my new saving grace.

Tonight was Writers Read and we had special guests come.  The rain probably kept the audience smaller than usual, but there were good writers and some new people came to visit.
I wanted to write another memory or reflection on Barb tonight.  Last night's memory caused a great interaction amongst cousins and friends.  Playing games was a big part of our household and my memory helped everyone to remember how much fun we all had playing games.  We had enough people for 2 tables of duplicate bridge.  Barb, Dad and I may have been the only cut throat players, but many others played.

Another interest of both Barb's and mine, which probably came from our mother, was costumes, or for Barb it was actually sewing outfits, which I never loved doing, although I could, but for both of us the costumes were a huge part of the drama.  She had an amazing book on the history of costume design that we spent a lot of time pawing over in her room on Signal Hill before she went away to college.  I have a beautiful doll collection from around the world and on the majority them there is sewn a tag and in Barbie's handwriting the doll's name and their country.  It must of taken hours for us to do that.  She wrote everything out in precise lettering.   I think I can still tell you the story of everyone.

The wind was blowing so hard when I walked into work tonight that the lights on the street were sideways.  I had the wrong lens on, of course, so I didn't get any good shots.
