Day 345
December 11, 2022
Thank you for lunch my lovely friend and compatriot.
Anew,
my brilliant day
emerges with resolve
to stay warm, comfortable and fed.
Sunday
Today is probably our first real snow day of the year. I had lunch with Tristan and came home and washed some dishes. I want to write two more poems. I want to take a few more photos.
I did cook a real dinner of salmon and asparagus and later I will make myself a cup of cocoa. I may try and watch a movie or do something that rocks me gently.
Tristan
you turned three
the week I found a place
where my heart could heal a bit
near you.
Held close
we laughed and sang
we explored new fields
grew in spurts of strength
tenderness, holding onto your
small hand.
Grown man
and I begin
to be a crone in age
remembering 48 years of
held hearts.
