I need a snow plower.

Woke up to snow this morning and the realization that no snow tires and nobody to plow my driveway equaled not getting to the pool on time.  Cleaning off my car today was a big deal, I couldn't even find my gloves and where did my snow brush go, and why oh why was I just thinking about it at 8 o'clock this morning?

I did make it to work on time and actually before then I grabbed some food at the Coop where a small group of friends who were at different places in their work days had all converged creating a ten minute comedy show amongst friends.  

After work I went to the canal actually looking for the heron which had been spotted even two days ago.  I didn't find him.  I did find ducks, mergansers, geese and new driftwood.  

Before I left the house this morning I had a few people send me photos of their early mornings with snow, including Eliza out in it first thing this morning.   She's going to be 1 in a little over 2 weeks, this year went very quickly and kind of surrealistically.  Is that a word?
