Day 356
December 22, 2022
Waiting for the storm
I shot in black and white today because there was so little natural contrast in the light. The world was more beautiful.
I got to the rookery around 4 today and it was 34 degrees and you could see the water forming into droplets in the air. When I got home the rain began. I have no idea what it is doing now.
Today I shoot in black and
white to draw attention to the grays.
Three days before Christmas
when grays paint the world upon a canvas.
Today I paint in subtle oblong
forms, melting trapezoids
lining up in perforated memories
displayed across my prism eyesight.
Today I color frequent
blues and purples dipped in
a toneless hue more gray.
My world sedate.
Today I need the world to know
handle me with care,
gray shadows the bruises while
my smile adjusts to camouflage.
