Day 364
December 30, 2022
two of the finest people in the world.

This is the perfect vacation activity.  EJ, Sarah and I have not done this in 11 years, and we were missing, Billie, but we had a blast.
It was a little more crowded than usual and we did not have little kids with us, but I just love the place.  I find it so interesting to not only watch the butterflies, but to watch the people deal with nature right up close.

The plants are gorgeous and it is warm and easy to breath in there.  People are happy and friendly.  Sarah wanted a taste of the tropics so we went and found it.

So my vacation ends, and tomorrow the year will end and along with it my final blog post.

I really miss the Pentax.  I'm going to have to do something about it.  The Sony is not quite what I need with  my idiosyncratic photographic style.

Thanks Sarah and EJ.  It was a great ending to a big week.

I do love my friends and family.

What is my totem animal today;

where is my strength lying in wait?

When wings unfold from the eagle’s chest

they expand larger than life. Reaching forward

Perceivable weight being lifted up high

Increasing momentum, stirring up air.

She is his totem, guiding him towards

accomplishing the uncertain, the unpredictable.

Lifting up off the branch of his life

to slowly expand and build with strength.

She is his totem, guiding him beyond

that which has limited his soul

What is mine?  Which of those animals

that frequent my life brings with them a message?

Recently deer venture in my path,

They don’t seem to bring a sign.

Ducks? or maybe dogs? Or

Which represents the change to a new tier?

Moving forward with solid, conscious footsteps,

turning to a new chapter?  Cow, she is

earth, solid, leading to change.

She is contemplative and symbolizes

fertility and new birth.

I enter the phase of wisdom and age.

I’ll go slowly into this new region

seeking out the humble skunk.  I’ll go

quietly with the companionship of

communal birds.  I’ll go with sturdy

intention and live well in my old age.
